Hi. I’m Julia but you can call me Jules.

First things first. I’ve been a celebrant and MC for the past twelve years so let’s just say, I know my way around ceremonies and events!

A little bit about me, before I know a little bit about you. I live on the most beautiful island on the planet, Waiheke but originally am from the UK and have travelled and lived in every continent before I settled in NZ for love 15 years ago.

I’m married to a wonderful guy (and got married on Waiheke as well) and have three gorgeous kids that keeps us on our toes. Being a celebrant and a MC really is an amazing honour and job. Where else do you get to hear amazing stories of love, specific names chosen for children, people’s dreams for the future; celebration of life and of course the love they share.

My professional background is in directing documentaries and TV production which means that I bring a wealth of experience to making your perfect day everything you dream. I am a storyteller and very skilled and comfortable at writing scripts and public speaking.

It is my job to take the vision of others and create well-thought-out, deeply structured and moving works of writing; and I'm here to do just that for you.

Whether you want “stylishly simple” or “elegantly elaborate”; from a vineyard looking over the sea to the opulence of a grand manor house or the adventure of a helicopter or yacht – it’s your day and your ceremony.

And I am a proud supporter of gender and marriage equality. My pronouns are she/her.

My journey

My journey to becoming a celebrant started when a close friend asked me to marry them. It was something I'd always thought about, especially during my own wedding when I struggled to find a celebrant who could deliver a truly unique, personalized ceremony. So, I wrote my own—and it felt so natural that I knew I’d found my calling. This new path perfectly aligned with my other passion for directing documentaries and short films.

At first, I focused solely on weddings, wanting to offer something different from the usual, cookie-cutter ceremonies. The feedback was incredible—it was so rewarding to see couples' faces light up when they realized their ceremony reflected them—their story, their values. That’s what keeps me inspired.

So how do I do it?

Simple. I get to know you both, diving into what makes your relationship special, and crafting a ceremony that truly represents who you are. I love mixing in humour and spontaneity to keep things light, engaging, and unforgettable.

This approach naturally expanded to include elopements, naming ceremonies, vow renewals, and funerals. Ultimately, everything I do is about celebrating you—your love, your milestones, your life. And as a lover of planning, you can count on me to ensure your day runs smoothly and stress-free.
