If you’re anything like me, you have questions. LOADS of questions.
I’ve answered the most frequently asked one’s below – and thrown in a few of my favourite ever questions just because they gave me joy!
What type of celebrant are you and how would you describe the ceremonies you present?
I am warm, relaxed but a very professional celebrant and I love my job. I love working with couples that trust me to do what I do with flair, charisma and the ability to balance the fun with the serious sides. I offer personalised ceremonies that are from the heart, friendly, engaging and actually enjoyable. The balance between the sentiment and the fun elements is very important and can be a fine line. A great celebrant is able to assess an audience and flex their presentation style accordingly. After all, it’s the unplanned moments that can be the most memorable and you need someone with the skills to be able to capture those moments.
How long will a ceremony last?
This is your ceremony, so it can last as long as you like!
However, to make sure everyone stays engaged it is good to go between 15 and 30 minutes. But we can talk about that, and tailor it to what you want. What about vows? Do we need to say them and can you help us with them?
By law, you have to say your minimum legal vows which I will have for you to read on the day. Personal vows are an incredible way to declare how you feel about your person but are 100% optional. I have a vow guide and also offer vow assistance as part of the packages that can be arranged with couples if they would like some guidance.
If you are not available for the date, can you recommend other amazing celebrants?
Yes, sure can. I will reply to you if I’m not available with a list of suggested celebrants for you to contact directly.
Is all the paperwork and legal elements included?
Yes, I manage all of the legal aspects to register your marriage and then after the wedding, I will send you a link to apply for your Official Marriage Certificate from Births, Deaths and Marriages if you need one. This is paid by you to BDM and will be posted to the address you provide when you apply.
Will you travel for a ceremony?
Yes, of course. I am based on Waiheke Island but I travel across NZ and Australia for ceremonies. Travel costs are added on top of my package fees.
How much does it cost for your services?
I have a variety of packages to cater for all budgets and for different ceremonies so get in touch for a quote and I am more than happy to send it to you. Yey can’t wait to chat!
How does payment work?
The times will vary a little for different ceremonies, but it works the same way.
Once you have decided to use my service, you will complete a booking form and pay a 50% non-refundable deposit. This secures the date for you.
Then you will pay the remaining 50% just before I release the draft script to you. This could be a month before, or it could be a week before. It depends on your time scale, but I would usually go for a month.
We don’t want a big ceremony, just an intimate marriage. Is this possible?
Yes, of course. Marrying couples with a few guests is a very special and personal ceremony. All you need is 2 witnesses to be present and make sure that you legally say your full names. if this is what you’re after; then we can make it happen.
LGBTQIA+ ?
I believe love doesn’t discriminate and I have had the pleasure of marrying hundreds of couples from all different walks of life. It is an honour and an absolute pleasure.
